The
teen and pre-teen years can be an awkward age for many. With
their hormones raging and their body's changing, being accepted
and feeling like they are "part of the group" are
important for this age group to feel accepted.
To
help accomplish this we assign each new student a 'mentor'.
The mentor is not an adult instructor but rather one of our
senior students who attends the same class. This
insures that each student gets off to a good start and immediately
gives them the confidence they need to succeed.
Our
achievers learn a very realistic and effective system of self
defense. While this is important for every young person to learn
in this day and age, it is extremely important for young women
going off to college (please see the video for some sobering
statistics for college girls).
Other
benefits gained are self confidence, coordination, weight control
and just plain fun!
Students
who attend the Pace Institute of Karate are a step up on others
because we teach them character development and important life
skills. Success traits that will pay off for the rest of their
lives.
